Featured / News/Events / Jun 22, 2016

The Mersey below Rowallan is still inaccessible via the Mersey Forest Road.

Check out the video below of the two major wash-outs – they may take a long time to repair.

“Notwithstanding advice from a bushwalking forum that 2wd access is possible the long-way round (via Gowrie Park, Claude Rd, Lemonthyne Rd, and then over Gad’s Hill and Borradaile Plains Rd and down to the Mersey Rd), Parks and Wildlife have advised us that Forestry Tas have closed all access roads into the upper Mersey Valley to the public.  Forestry Tas is working with Parks, Hydro and local councils to restore access as son as possible. We look forward to roads being opened soon and will advise when access is open.”
